When it comes to weight loss, most people have there thinking upside down.  They believe you lose weight to be healthy.

But in fact, it is the other way around.  You must be healthy in order to lose weight.

This conversation recently came up in the office, because we stress the need for normal cortisol levels.  When cortisol remains elevated through emotions, diet, or inflammation, the important biochemicals your body makes are used up in unhealthy patterns.

This is a very important fact, because most people are just trying to weigh a certain number.  And to reach their goal of weighing a certain amount, they do all types of damaging things to their body.

For example, let’s say a woman wants to wear a certain sized dress for an upcoming event or holiday.  In order to reach their goal, they might not eat, instead skipping meals, and then over exercise.

This process uses up the bodies functional, structural, and energetic biochemicals.

Using up your vital biochemicals in this way prevents your body from rebuilding itself.

And the purpose of food is to provide the building blocks for daily repair that is needed from the wear and tear of life.

So you must change your focus to building your body for weight loss. Building your body means burning calories by eating the right foods at the right times.  When you do this, you will burn calories breaking down the food.  You will burn calories absorbing the food.  And you will burn calories rebuilding your body parts.

Eating food, breaking down food, absorbing food, and utilizing food all take energy.

You do not need to break down your body in order to lose weight.  You need to build up and be healthier for it.
